PARALEGAL
Paralegals provide services that help legal teams and law office staff work more efficiently and intelligently. Students earn an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal at Capitol City Careers to help them prepare for a career in the legal field. Paralegal students learn about the legal and adversarial process. They take courses in the fundamentals of civil, criminal, business, transactional, administrative, estate and family law. They learn legal research, writing, and discovery, and get hands-on experience using legal technologies in the office and within the court system. General education courses provide an extra boost in a field that relies heavily on communications and includes psychology, composition, communications and computer applications. Program graduates can compete for positions that include documents clerk, court clerk, research assistant and title clerk.

EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
This program is designed to provide students for entry level employment in public and private businesses and professional offices as office and administrative support specialists. To meet this objective, graduates will demonstrate practical business and legal procedures enabling them to function effectively in a computerized office environment utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, graphics, and windows-based applications software. |

LEGAL ASSISTANT
A Legal Administrative Assistant is a professional who is trained to handle certain law related responsibilities as an integral member of a legal staff. Properly trained assistants may, under the supervision of a lawyer, perform a variety of functions which include managing complex files, developing legal practice systems, and assisting the attorney in and out of the courtroom. |

ESL - English Language Program
The ESL certificate program focuses on building English language competencies and the development of English language skills for students whose native language is not English. Students will be provided opportunities to build these competencies and develop the skills necessary to transfer their vocational and professional skills to the American workforce or to further their education. |

TRAINING AIDS
Computer aided instruction and current software for legal and business applications are accessible to all students.
LEARNING RESOURSES
The school has Learning Resource Centers located throughout the school which contain reference manuals, materials, publications and periodicals. The Resource Centers are available to provide reference material required both in the program and for self-initiated study.
CLASS SIZES
The teacher/student ratio will be a maximum of 30 students to 1 instructor in a lecture class, 20 students to 1 instructor in a typing lab, and a maximum ratio of 20 students to 1 instructor in a computer lab class.
